    By blowing up the photo it would appear that the woman second from the Left is clearly the oldest, by far, more than likely Eleanor, and on closer inspection it is not too hard to perceive that she is possibly pregnant.

    • Embarkation:
      HMAT Marathon (A74) 29.07.1918 ex Albany WA

      Admitted to Military Hospital, Sutton Veny on 12.11.1918 suffering from influenza and pneumonia. Died 15.11.1918 at 08:15. Buried St John, the Evangalist Churchyard Sutton Veny, 20.11.1918 by Chaplain A.S.M. McParson.
      Grave No.33 Military Section.
      Buried with full military honours. The coffin draped with the Australian flag. He was borne to the graveside ona gun carriage.
      The funeral was preceeded by a Firing Party and Band from the 1st Aust. Training Brigade. Six of Ernests comrades supported the pall.

      Anecdotally his 'fiancee' sent him a white feather which forced him to join up. He didn't want to go to war to kill or be killed & he died of flu before ever reaching action.
